This pattern includes standard saddle bags, a horn bag, a cantle bag, a hay feed bag which holds several flakes of hay and can be hung inside or on a horse trailer, a feed bag, a full size bale carry bag, and a half bale carry bag. Instructions are given for making insulated saddle bags to carry cold drinks or food. The saddle bags and horn bag flaps are fastened with Velcro or the saddle bags can be made with buckles. The cantle bag has D-rings for attachment to a western saddle. The hay bale bags keep hay clean and dry and prevent a mess in your truck or trailer.

SADDLE BAGS: 
45” or 60” wide Fabric - 1-1/4 yds
1” Foldover Braid - 5-5/8 yds (6-5/8 yds for insulated bags)
1” Hook-and-Loop - 14” 
1/2” Grommets - 2
For buckled bags use -
1” buckles - 4 heavy duty - 
1” Webbing - 2 yds of  instead of hook-and-loop tape
For insulated bags use waterproof nylon or vinyl and insulation such as needlepunch or Thinsulate™.  Insulated bags also need seam sealing product to make seams waterproof.

HORN BAG: 
45” or 60” wide Fabric - 7/8 yd
1” Webbing - 4”
1” Foldover Braid - 4-1/8 yds
1” Hook-and-Loop tape - 7”
1” Rectangular or D-rings - 2

CANTLE BAG: 
45” or 60” Fabric - 5/8 yd

FEED BAG:

5” x 9” piece of suede leather
3/4” Side-Release Buckle - 1  or other kind of buckle
Note-  bag bottom can be made from leather for extra durability.

FULL BALE BAG*:

#8 or #10 Coil Zipper Tape - 83”, and matching non-locking zipper pull

*If using totally waterproof fabric install grommets for ventilation.  Instead of using coil zipper tape you can use a sleeping bag zipper and cut off the excess.
