Selecting the Right Web
Nylon:  Most commonly used because of its abrasion resistance and durability.
Polypropylene:  More suitable for long-term sun exposure and marine use.
Width: Use hardware and webbing that are the same width (i.e. a 1" slider accepts 1" webbing).
Weight or Thickness:
In most applications other than climbing or towing, any weight webbing is easily strong enough. 
Choosing heavy weight webbing isn't necessarily the answer. How you attach it is important.

Most Plastic hardware works well with regular weight polypropylene, nylon and seatbelt webbing. 
Heavy weight and tubular webbing fit through but are more difficult to adjust most packs use webbing equivalent to our regular weight.

Twill tape and Grosgrain ribbon are the thinnest, most flexible webbings that we carry. 
They are frequently used folded as an abrasion-resistant edging. Examples are on wallets and horse blankets.
