Frame: #1020, by My Little World - Frames vary. This pattern is made to fit these frames only.
Fabric: 1-1/4 yards of 54", 1-1/2 yards of 45" or 1-5/8 yards of 43" wide fabric.
Stripes, plaids, and one-way designs require double the amount of fabric.
Use light weight laminated fabrics, heavy laminates don't have enough give, so beware. DO NOT use "oil cloth"! Use laminated cotton or spray-waterproofing on regular cotton.
Fabric suggestions: Ripstop Nylon, Supplex Nylon, Taffeta, Microfiber, lace, cotton, laminated cotton. Cotton is the easiest to use, especially for the first time when constructing your umbrella.
(Do Not Use stiff, non-flexible laminated type or oil cloth).
Notions: Matching polyester thread. Serger thread - can use Wooly nylon, hand sewing needle, hot glue or craft glue, and waterproofing spray if needed. Eight safety pins and scotch tape.
Optional: Plastic or poster board for template for ease of cutting out pattern. Lace, doily or fringe: lower hem length is approximately 4-1/2 yards.
