My Little World "Just for Kids" Umbrella
A quick and easy pattern for sewing and serging a cover for MLW child umbrella frame.
Frame: Matching umbrella frames in a variety of handle color choices. This pattern is made to fit these frames only.
Fabric: 1 yard - 54", 45" or 43" wide fabric.
Stripes, plaids, and one-way designs require double the amount of fabric. Some coated fabrics are too heavy and don't have enough give, so beware.
Fabric suggestions: Ripstop Nylon, Supplex Nylon, Taffeta, Microfiber, lace, cotton, laminated cotton. Cotton is the easiest to use, especially for the first time when constructing your umbrella. Try chenille or terry for a baby mobile.
Notions: Matching polyester thread. Serger thread - can use Wooly nylon, hand sewing needle, Tacky glue or Fabri-tac glue, one gripper snap or 1" hook and loop closure. Waterproofing spray if needed. Eight safety pins and scotch tape.
Optional: Plastic for template for ease of cutting out pattern. Lace, doily or fringe: lower hem length is approximately 2-1/2 yards.
